Roles & Responsibilities

As the General Manager, the incumbent is responsible for management of aftersales service of Compressors & Steam Turbines in Southeast Asia & Oceania Countries. The incumbent is also responsible for provision of engineering service to the customers; be a contact point of customers in technical / field matters and work to solve their problems as well as contribute to increase sales volume by promoting new technologies and service menus proactively and recommending purchase of spare parts in a timely manner.

Job Description & Requirements
1) Managing aftermarket business of South East Asia and Oceania
  • Make action plans to meet annual sales target and mid-term strategic activities in the area.
  • Responsible for executing the action plans to reach the targets.
  • Build/strengthen trust and relationships with customers and develop mutually beneficial business relationship.
2) Providing proper proposal of spare parts supply and improvement items and engineering services to Customers
  • Provide spare parts in alignment with the customer’s equipment maintenance and turnaround schedule and propose improvement methods and products that meet the customer’s requirements, with the objective of enhancing customer satisfaction and increasing order volume.
  • Keep in close contact with customers through frequent visit to the site to receive information on their maintenance plans, the situation and problems regarding compressors/steam turbines.
  • Clarify technical queries and explain customers replies and solutions.
  • Provide first aid in case of emergency at site.
  • Be the first contact point for all technical matters including new project, revamping, repair, parts and technical advisory service at site.
3) Collecting/Analyzing market information and make new service menus
  • Collect and analyze information on market trend, needs and competitor’s movement.
  • Make new service menus based on market information and propose the menus to the customers to increase sales volume.
4) Communicating with our company and our business partners
  • Support our engineer’s job execution through questions and negotiations with customers in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain good communication network with our business partners (agents and service providers).
  • Responsible to train regional service engineers, including the training of design/engineering philosophy and internal job procedures.

  • Provide appropriate proposals for spare parts supply and improvement items in alignment with customer maintenance schedules and operational needs
  • Utilize experienced technology and collaborate with Japan counterparts to recommend component improvements, ensuring proper risk management
  • Conduct sales activities and technical support to maintain equipment reliability and ensure the integrity of customer plant operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Strategic sales or Technical Sale, and Technical Account Management of centrifugal compressors and/or steam turbines.
  • Minimum 5 years of aftermarket business experience.
  • Good communications skills with a superior customer focus.
  • Japanese Language proficiency of JLPT N1 or equivalent is mandatory as this role requires the incumbent to communicate with Japanese internal counterparts and external suppliers on a daily basis.
  • Preferably fluent also in other local languages in South East Asia.
  • Basic knowledge of vibration, erosion/corrosion, material mechanics.
  • Must have proficient experience & exposure to national and international engineering codes and standards
  • Have willingness for experiencing continuous improvement processes.
  • Experiences for participating in lessons learned, Kaizen events, Six Sigma studies
