Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee our construction operations in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading business development, project management, financial performance, and team leadership to ensure the company’s growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies that drive company growth and expand market presence.
- Lead construction project delivery by managing schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and profit and loss management to optimize profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, government agencies, and key stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with Singapore’s building codes, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, actively participate in tender processes, and negotiate contracts to secure projects.
- Implement operational best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes.
- Utilize project management software tools such as Primavera, AutoCAD, and MS Project to plan, monitor, and control project execution.
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects within Singapore’s regulatory environment.
- Strong financial management skills including budgeting, cost control, and risk mitigation.
- Leadership skills demonstrated through at least 5 years in senior construction management roles.
- Familiarity with Singapore’s construction regulations including BCA and LTA standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, AutoCAD, MS Project).
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), PMP, or CSCP.
- Experience managing both public and private sector projects including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments.
