Overview

We are in search of an enthusiastic veterinary colleague with some experience to join our small animal clinic that sees some exotics. The successful applicant will be settling in a friendly environment, well supported by a good team of nurses and experienced veterinarians. Our principal is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Melbourne and has a special interest and qualifications in aquatic medicine. New and recent graduates are welcome to apply- for whom there will be a mentoring process.

The practice was established in 2002 and is still growing. If you are looking for stability and working with seasoned colleagues who find fulfillment in their vocation, our practice is the right one for you. We make full use of all our equipment, which include the full suite of Idexx blood machines, Ultrasound, Radiography, Gastro-scope, Cryosurgical equipment, Tonometry, etc.

We are a busy practice with exposure to a wide variety of medicine and surgical cases. We strive for patient advocacy, client care, and staff wellbeing.

The clinic is open for consultations Mon-Sat 9.30- 1pm, and 3-7.30pm. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Provide veterinary care for small animals with exposure to a wide variety of medicine and surgical cases.
  • Contribute to patient advocacy, client care, and staff wellbeing.
  • Work within a friendly team, with mentoring available for new graduates or those early in their career.
  • Utilize equipment and facilities as described (Idexx blood machines, Ultrasound, Radiography, Gastro-scope, Cryosurgical equipment, Tonometry).
Qualifications and Development
  • Some veterinary experience required; new and recent graduates are welcome.
  • Interest or experience in exotics, with a principal who has special interest and qualifications in aquatic medicine.
  • Support for continuing professional development (CPE) and opportunities for future career development within the practice.
Compensation and How to Apply

We want to support our veterinarians to grow in their hands-on and diagnostic skills. CPE is encouraged and financially supported, including furthering individual interests in veterinary medicine and surgery. There is also opportunity for future career development in the practice for the right candidate.
