We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Production Cook to support our central kitchen and event catering operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, production efficiency, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality for large-scale catering, banquets, and event functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation & Production
- Prepare, cook, and portion food items according to production schedule, recipes, and company standards.
- Assist in large-batch cooking and central kitchen production for catering events.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation for all menu items.
- Perform mise-en-place (cutting, marinating, seasoning, ingredient preparation) ahead of production.
2. Central Kitchen & Event Support
- Work closely with the Chef and Production Supervisor to meet daily production targets.
- Assist in packing, labeling, and organising cooked food for delivery to event venues.
- Support on-site catering setup or cooking (when required).
- Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked items following FIFO and food safety guidelines.
3. Hygiene, Safety & Quality Control
- Comply with SFA food hygiene standards, internal SOPs, and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, tools, and production areas.
- Ensure proper use of protective gear, safe handling of equipment, and hazard prevention.
- Conduct temperature checks, expiry monitoring, and maintain production records when required.
4. Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor stock levels and inform supervisor of shortages.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing raw materials.
- Operate kitchen machines/equipment safely (mixers, ovens, steamers, vacuum sealers, etc.).
5. Teamwork & Additional Duties
- Work as part of a team to ensure efficient workflow and smooth operations.
- Cooperate with colleagues across preparation, cooking, and packing teams.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef or Management to support operations and events.
Requirements
- Preferably 1–3 years of experience in food production, central kitchen, catering, or restaurant kitchen.
- Ability to handle bulk cooking and production schedules.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, safety standards, and kitchen operations.
- Physically fit to handle kitchen tasks and long hours of standing.
- Positive attitude, responsible, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Able to work weekends, public holidays, or extended hours during event seasons (with OT).
