Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a skilled technician to manage flange joint identification, ensure proper assembly and testing of piping systems, and maintain regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience with tightening corrosive components and executing hydrostatic pressure tests. Safety and adherence to specifications are critical in this role, ensuring leak-free systems through careful inspection and coordination with various teams.

• Ability to align pipelines and flanges accurately.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all bolts and nuts are properly lubricated.
• Align pipelines and flanges correctly before assembly.
• Install the correct gasket type and material.
• Tighten and torque all flanged joints as per procedures.
• Perform Nitrogen purging and hydrostatic pressure testing.
• Carry out mechanical reinstatement after pressure testing.
• Manage flange joint identification and tagging.
• Prepare and maintain Joint Register and Completion Certificates.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications.

Job description

• Ensure all bolts and nuts are properly lubricated to prevent corrosion
• Align pipelines and flanges correctly before assembly
• Install the correct gasket type and material as per specifications
• Tighten and torque all flanged joints according to approved procedures and torque values
• Perform and support Nitrogen purging and hydrostatic pressure testing
• Ensure all test pressure is safely released after testing activities
• Carry out mechanical reinstatement after pressure testing or valve replacement
• Perform on-site flange machining when required (flange facing, RTJ grooving, Grayloc)
• Inspect flanges, gaskets, and bolting prior to installation
• Classify piping systems as Critical or Non-Critical and ensure joint integrity for both
• Manage flange joint identification, tagging, and joint records
• Prepare and maintain the Joint Register and Joint Completion Certificates for Critical systems
• Coordinate with mechanical, inspection, and commissioning teams to ensure leak-free systems
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with project specifications and procedures
