Position Summary
The Finance Controller oversees all financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic financial planning to support the company’s growth and profitability. This role involves managing budgets, forecasts, cost control, and financial reporting for construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work with inter-departments on funding requirements to work out monthly cash flow following the terms agreed with the main contractor, asset owner, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain quarterly rolling forecasts to plan for financial needs.
- Review and analyze the budget (actual vs budget) to assess potential variances on a quarterly/half-yearly basis.
- Source and secure the most competitive providers for bonds and insurance required for the projects.
- Provide accurate forecasts and variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Liaise and build relationship with bankers, insurance companies, corporate secretaries, and other regulatory bodies for finance matters.
- Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and provide financial advice to support overall business operations for decision-making.
- Supervise finance team members and ensure continuous development.
- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams for financial alignment.
- Prepare monthly reports for the management as required.
- Other adhoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Finance or equivalent professional qualification.
- Preferably with 8 years of working experience in a similar capacity.
- Meticulous and attention to detail.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent proficiency with standard office applications, especially in MS Word & MS Excel.
