A leading construction firm in Singapore seeks a Financial Analyst to support financial reporting, cost control, and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 3-6 years of experience in finance, preferably within the construction sector. Key responsibilities include managing reports, monitoring project costs, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting. Strong financial analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential for success in this role.
Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, including project P&L, cost variance analysis, and margin performance.
Monitor financial performance of construction projects against approved budgets, forecasts, and contract values.
Analyze overheads and operational costs to identify efficiency improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
Support project teams in project budgeting, cost planning, and financial forecasting.
Track project costs, work‑in‑progress (WIP), progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
Monitor subcontractor costs, material costs, labour, plant, and preliminaries.
Assist in identifying potential cost overruns, risks, and mitigation measures.
Assist in annual budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and periodic re‑forecasting exercises.
Prepare project cash flow projections and monitor funding requirements.
Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to support management decision‑making.
Support financial evaluation of tenders, bids, and new projects, including cost build‑ups and pricing analysis.
Evaluate capital expenditures related to construction equipment, machinery, and technology investments.
Perform ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analyses for business expansion and investment initiatives.
Partner with project managers, quantity surveyors, and commercial teams to provide financial insights.
Support management in contract reviews, risk assessments, and commercial decision‑making.
Prepare ad‑hoc financial analysis, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
3–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, or project‑based industry.
Strong proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and Microsoft Excel.
Good understanding of construction project costing, WIP accounting, and cash flow management.
Experience with ERP or project accounting systems is an advantage.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
