A notable social service organization in Singapore is seeking a Finance Executive to manage day-to-day financial tasks crucial to its mission. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the social service sector. The Finance Executive is instrumental in managing day-to-day financial tasks, contributing to our organisation’s mission by ensuring sound financial practices.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and highly-organised, ensuring smooth and accurate flow of all finance-related matters.
Responsibilities
Cash Management:
Manage the petty cash float and reimburse staff expense claims.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and seek necessary approval from the National Director.
With approval and instructions from the HOD, to liaise with the bank and relevant stakeholders on specified matters.
Payable and Receivable Processes:
Check and ensure all supporting documents have been completed before proceeding with payment process.
Process payments in the bank’s online payment system based on the approved invoices by the National Director.
Issue invoices to our clients.
Maintain proper records of donation receipts in the Donor Management System.
Issue Tax Deductible Receipts (TDR) and ensure all data is accurate for reporting to IRAS.
Monthly and Quarterly Closing:
Prepare all entries and required documents for the monthly and quarterly closing entries and upload them to the Accounting System after approval by the Corporate Services Manager.
Prepare and print all the held journals that have been posted before getting approval and signatory from the National Director.
Liaising with other departments on matters related to Finance.
Year-End Audit Process:
Prepare all Finance documents (i.e. AP, AR, and GL documents) for the auditors.
Liaising with external auditors regarding the audit timeline as instructed by the Corporate Services Manager.
Doing the post-audit entries after completion of the Audited Financial Statements (FS), ensuring management accounts tally with Audited FS and Accounting System.
Undertake any other duties or projects assigned by the Head of Department.
A successful Candidate would
Possess a diploma in Accounting from an accredited institution.
Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience with advantage in the social service sector.
Be a detail-oriented person and efficient multi-tasker who is organised and resourceful.
Have good communication skills and a team player.
Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Have attention to detail and able to analyse data when required.
