Job summary

A consultancy firm is looking for a Finance Manager / Senior Finance Analyst to support data center operations across Singapore and Malaysia. The successful candidate will need hands-on experience in finance and trade structures with expertise in customs duties, tariffs, GST/VAT, and compliance. This role requires a strong background in International Trade, capable of operating independently and building processes from scratch. A bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is essential, and relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage.

Job Description

Position: Finance Manager / Senior Finance Analyst
Industry: Data Center / Infrastructure / International Trade

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly hands‑on finance professional with a strong International Trade and cross‑border tax background to support data center–related operations across Singapore and Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently design and implement finance and trade structures for Singapore and Malaysia operations.

  • Handle day‑to‑day finance operations on a hands‑on basis (no existing team initially).

  • Establish import / export workflows supporting data center equipment and services.

International Trade & Tax
  • Manage customs duties, tariffs, import/export taxes, GST/VAT, and withholding tax matters.

  • Oversee duty optimisation, tax incentives, and refund schemes (e.g. GST/VAT refunds).

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore and Malaysia customs and tax regulations.

  • Liaise directly with customs authorities, logistics providers, and freight forwarders.

Finance & Compliance
  • Manage AP/AR, cash flow, budgeting, and cost tracking.

  • Support audit, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.

  • Work closely with legal, operations, and external advisors as required.

Requirements
  • Strong background in International Trade / Trade Finance / Indirect Tax.

  • Hands‑on experience with:

    • Customs duties, tariffs, import/export tax

    • GST / VAT / sales tax

    • Tax refund mechanisms

  • Practical experience covering Singapore and Malaysia (both jurisdictions required).

  • Experience supporting infrastructure, data center, or capital equipment–heavy businesses is highly preferred.

  • Comfortable working in a lean setup and building processes from scratch.

  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.

  • Professional accounting or tax qualification is a plus.
