Expenses & Project Accounting Lead

Division: Global Accounting & Reporting (A&R)

Reports to: Accounting & Reporting – Functional & Process Design Lead

Experience Level: 5–10 years

Location: Singapore

About the Role

This is a key leadership role within the Future Finance Programme—a global transformation initiative to modernise and reinvent the finance function across the Group.

As the Expenses & Project Accounting Lead, you will own and drive the global functional design, business requirements, and delivery for Expenses & Project Accounting within the Accounting & Reporting (A&R) workstream. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead solution design, guide business units, and champion change across head office and global teams.

You will work closely with finance, change, and technology stakeholders and play a critical role in delivering a standardised, automated, and future-ready global finance platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and lead the end-to-end functional design and business requirements for Expenses & Project Accounting.
  • Act as the global SME, driving design decisions and collaboration across Head Office and Business Units.
  • Translate user pain points into scalable global solutions focused on standardisation, simplification, and automation.
  • Lead business design, prototyping, and solution validation, covering data, processes, controls, accounting, and reporting.
  • Partner with technology, data, and change teams to ensure effective solution delivery and integration.
  • Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including troubleshooting and SME guidance.
  • Champion change management and adoption, supporting Business Units during global rollout and localisation.
  • Govern and prioritise system change requests through Finance Change Management forums.
  • Coach and develop teams to build strong internal finance transformation capability.
What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
  • Strong background in Financial Control, Expense Management, and/or Project Accounting.
  • Solid understanding of ledger close, expense MI, project accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven experience leading process design, transformation, or automation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Change-oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
Preferred
  • Experience in finance transformation or change delivery roles.
  • Knowledge of controls frameworks (e.g. SOX).
  • Exposure to insurance or financial services environments.
  • Experience with finance systems (Oracle / Oracle Fusion preferred).
  • Track record in process improvement, automation, or system implementation.
