Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy firm in Singapore is seeking a technical specialist for the NEA waste management facilities, including the IWMF and TSIP. Responsibilities include supervising construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and participating in the testing of mechanical and electrical systems. Candidates should hold a degree in engineering and possess good technical and analytical skills, preferably with knowledge in solid waste management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Navisworks, and Primavera P6 is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant engineering field is required.
  • Strong understanding of solid waste management is a plus.
  • Able to work at construction sites and travel overseas for FATs.

Job description

You will be part of the technical specialists working at NEA waste management facilities including the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) – a large-scale waste management infrastructural project, and Tuas South Incineration Plant (TSIP). The work scope and job requirements are as follows.

What you will be working on:
  • You may be part of the project team to supervise IWMF construction progress.
  • Work with project consultants and key stakeholders, such as other government agencies, on the design of the various facilities in IWMF and ensure that IWMF is constructed, erected, installed in accordance with design specifications and complying with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning of mechanical, process, electrical, instrument, control and automation equipment/systems.
  • Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) at local and overseas factories to witness and verify quality and performance of major equipment/systems.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural Engineering, Chemical, Environmental Engineering).
  • Possess good technical background and strong analytical skills. Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and preferably in Navisworks and Primavera P6.
  • Mature, independent, resourceful, and a good team player.
  • Good interpersonal communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Able to perform shift work will be advantageous.
  • Able to work at construction sites and travel overseas for FATs and training.
