Job description

What the role is:

As a Senior Engineer / Engineer in the Catchment and Waterways Department’s Analysis & Projects Unit / Reservoir Management division, your main roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to:

What you will be working on:

• Monitor catchment and reservoir water quality by assessing the water quality data, collaborating with catchment water quality team and reservoir water quality team to investigate water quality related incidents and implement measures to improve water quality
• Monitor pollutive activities within water catchments, coordinate water quality sampling and monitoring programmes, and develop pollution heat maps to identify and track key pollutant sources in the catchment
• Explore smart technologies and innovative solutions for raw water quality monitoring and management, conduct trials and studies to validate emerging technologies, and assess their operational feasibility
• Call tenders and quotations for procurement of equipment and services related to raw water quality monitoring and management
• Manage operations and maintenance contracts for raw water quality monitoring and management according to specifications, and monitor budget expenditure and schedule
• Provide technical inputs to R&D projects, consultant studies, and consultation on new developments related to raw water quality
• Provide inputs in replies to public queries on water quality related issues

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering
• Candidates with relevant experience in water quality monitoring and management would be an advantage
• Good interpersonal, communication and writing skills
• Independent, result-oriented and self-driven team player
• Able to attend to work on weekends and after office hours when required
