Job description
Early Childhood Music Educator

About The Music Circle

Since 2015, The Music Circle has been providing comprehensive music education for young learners. Unlike schools focused solely on exam preparation, we develop independent musicians with strong aural skills, instrumental proficiency, music knowledge, and note reading abilities.

Our distinctive approach integrates multiple research-based pedagogies—Gordon's Music Learning Theory, Kodály and Dalcroze—to build well-rounded musicians from the earliest ages.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a committed music educator to join our team and teach early childhood classes (ages 2‑5) and beginner piano lessons. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced pedagogues, receive mentorship from our Artistic Director Dr. Tang Tee Tong, and grow your craft in a supportive, professional environment.

What We're Looking For:

Essential qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Music, Music Education, or Music Performance from a recognised institution
  • Strong musicianship skills, particularly in singing and keyboard/guitar/ukulele
  • Genuine passion for working with young children and nurturing their musical and personal development
  • Availability for weekend teaching (Saturdays and Sundays)

The right mindset:

  • Student‑centred approach
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within our integrated pedagogical framework
  • Commitment to long‑term growth with our team
  • Collaborative spirit and professionalism
What We Offer:
  • Competitive remuneration
  • Comprehensive training in our distinctive methodology under Dr. Tang's mentorship
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Supportive, positive team culture
  • The chance to be part of something meaningful—shaping young musicians' foundations
This role is ideal for educators who:
  • Want to move beyond exam-focused teaching into research-based, holistic pedagogy
  • Value continuous learning and pedagogical excellence
  • Are looking for a professional home, not just a job
