The Temporary Driver (1 to 3 months, with possible extension depending on team needs) plays a key role in supporting cancer patients by providing safe, punctual, and compassionate transportation for medical appointments, treatments, and related needs. You will ensure a positive transport experience for elderly, frail, and mobility‑challenged clients while upholding safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Transport Services
- Safely transport cancer patients to and from hospitals, treatment centres, and approved destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with mobility challenges.
- Ensure punctual pick‑up and drop‑off based on daily schedules.
- Interact with patients and caregivers with empathy, respect, and professionalism.
2. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
- Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, tyres, brakes, cleanliness, etc.).
- Report defects, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean, sanitised, and in good working condition.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and SCS safety policies at all times.
3. Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required transport documentation.
- Liaise with the Transport Coordinator and Welfare team for scheduling updates or urgent cases.
- Support logistics and transport for programmes or events when required.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks during low transport demand (as needed).
- May be assigned additional duties by the Welfare Manager/Assistant Manager.
Key Requirements
- Valid Class 3 Singapore Driving Licence.
- Clean driving record; minimum 2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Experience transporting passengers with mobility needs is an advantage.
- Background in social service, healthcare, or eldercare settings is beneficial.
