Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead and oversee all financial operations within our client's organization. This pivotal role involves driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and providing leadership to the finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in financial planning, governance, and stakeholder management, with a proven ability to align financial operations with business objectives.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Finance, you will:

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals.

  • Provide financial leadership, direction, and guidance to the executive team and finance department.

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and other executives, offering insights on financial opportunities and challenges.

  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to support operations.

  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.

  • Manage financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining accurate financial reporting.

  • Supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Provide commercial insight and leadership to exceed business plan targets.

  • Embed and operationalize the risk and compliance management framework across the organization.

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior management, external partners, and stakeholders.

  • Identify growth opportunities, including potential mergers and acquisitions.

  • Oversee and consolidate financial operations across multiple regions, including Malaysia, Japan, and the United States.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA preferred).

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance leadership roles, ideally within the entertainment and F&B sectors.

  • Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • A solid understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and risk management.

  • A track record of managing external auditors and delivering accurate, consolidated financial statements for multi-entity groups.

  • Experience in both audit firms and in-house roles within private companies.

  • A history of digitizing and automating finance processes (e.g., ERP, BI, e-invoicing) to enhance efficiency.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a positive, change-oriented mindset.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, including direct engagement with the CEO.

  • Prior experience as a CFO or in an equivalent senior finance leadership role.

Day-to-Day

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the finance team to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.

  • Collaborating with the executive team to align financial strategies with business objectives.

  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Monitoring cash flow and managing liquidity to support operational needs.
