About Our Client

Our client is a global investment bank expanding its valuation oversight capabilities in Asia. As part of this build-out, the bank is seeking a Director, Valuation Control to establish and lead an independent valuation control framework for its structured credit and complex financing portfolios.

This is a newly created, hands‑on leadership role offering the opportunity to shape core valuation governance, enhance independent price verification processes, and strengthen control standards across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and enhance valuation control policies, IPV processes, and governance standards.
  • Perform independent valuations and benchmark key inputs (spreads, discount rates, liquidity adjustments).
  • Review and challenge marks across structured credit, bespoke financing, mezzanine and complex products.
  • Oversee valuation models and coordinate with external valuation agents.
  • Monitor credit performance and identify positions requiring enhanced review or adjustment.
  • Produce valuation reports and serve as the key point of contact for audit, regulatory and senior stakeholder queries.
Requirements
  • 10-15 years’ experience in valuation control, valuation advisory, credit risk, or front‑office valuation within an investment bank.
  • Deep expertise in structured credit valuation methodologies and complex financing structures.
  • Strong modelling capability, independent judgment, and confidence in challenge.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong control mindset.
