A prominent trade organization in Singapore is looking for a senior manager to supervise staff across multiple committees and drive initiatives that enhance engagement with stakeholders. This role requires strategic planning and operational oversight, along with strong leadership and collaboration skills. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years in a senior management position. Effective networking and communication abilities are essential for success in this position.
This is a senior management position. The candidate has to supervise 3 groups of staff working with the Commerce & Industry (C&I) Committee, International Committee and Technology Committee, and is therefore expected to possess general domain knowledge of the work of these committees and maintain good general awareness of the external developments which are of direct relevance to these committees.
In supporting the C&I and International Committees, the candidate is expected to proactively drive the chamber’s efforts in disseminating government policies and industry knowledge, organise mission trips and conferences, and seeking out and creating business opportunities and networking platforms for our trade association and corporate members. In supporting the Technology Committee, the candidate is expected to assist them to enhance their operating capabilities through technology adoption and innovation.
To be effective in this role, the candidate is expected to work collaboratively with government agencies and business partners. Importantly, the candidate must be confident and competent in reaching out to and working with their key stakeholders and decision makers to promote the works of the chamber and to achieve strong partnership with them to achieve mutual benefiting outcomes.
Leadership
The candidate is expected to lead and guide his/her staff professionally and effectively in support of the three committees.
Strategic Planning
The candidate is expected to do long‑term planning to implement the initiatives of the council and chart out mid‑term annual workplan objectives and milestones for the committees.
Conduct Operations
The candidate is expected to plan and conduct overseas mission workshops (OMWs), seminars, talks, courses, workshops and networking events and programs etc. for our trade association and corporate members.
Administrative and Financial Management
The candidate is expected to maintain effective and efficient use of resources administratively and financially to achieve the desired objectives of the committees.
