Our client, a market leader in technology solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Development Manager to lead its engineering division. You will oversee software/firmware development activities, guide engineering teams, and drive project excellence.
Reporting To: You will report directly to General Management, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, resource planning, and performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Project & Task Management
- Oversee the planning and timely execution of development projects and tasks within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Prepare project plans, facilitate agile processes, assign resources, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvements.
- Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD)
- Ensure development activities achieve high quality standards, optimized costs, and timely delivery.
- Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance on software architecture, algorithms, system design, and engineering best practices.
- Review technical documents and code; support technical decision-making and make final decisions when required.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives.
- Process & Quality Improvement
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, establish engineering standards, and ensure adherence to coding and documentation practices.
- Track KPIs, promote best practices, and enhance product quality, security, and performance.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Manage the department’s budget, optimize resource allocation, and monitor costs while maintaining productivity and quality.

Requirements & Preferences
- Must: ITE/Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Must: Minimum 7 years of software/firmware development experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Must: Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab, Jira, Confluence).
- Must: Experience in cross-platform development (e.g., Windows, mobile, web, embedded systems) with strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system architecture.
- Must: Proven leadership and people-development capabilities.
- Must: Experience in agile project management and process improvement.
- Must: Knowledge of budget management, cost optimization, and QCD principles.
