Position summary

Position summary: The Engineer will work with a team of engineers supporting the Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) System, he/she will ensure smooth running of the DAM operations, keeping it in a healthy condition, highly available and comply to the service level agreement and security policies.

They will be responsible for the performance of the team in achieving the project and operational KPIs and SLAs both at the team and the individual level. Engage with the team and management, provide sound advice and recommendations on matters related to the DAM System.

He/She is confident and decisive in managing or leading projects, overseeing the completion and integration of inter-dependent projects and parts. He/She has excellent communication skills, capable of effectively influencing various internal and external stakeholders.

Design, develop and maintain DAM for cloud-based database systems. This includes collaborating with clients to integrate cloud database into the DAM and applying policies to monitor these databases. Actively monitoring security alerts and work closely with clients to ensure that the policies are effectively implemented, and security is maintained efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Execute Database Monitoring Administration Service Levels
• Implement infrastructure and support database security monitoring.
• Perform database security monitoring and auditing.
• Monitor security alerts and work with client to ensure the policies are implemented effectively.
• Manage database activity monitoring report.
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security. Demonstrated analytical skill.
• Ability to work with client to understand requirement and address their database security monitoring needs and use cases.
• Conduct regular policies review. Configure policies base on the standard requirement.
• Identify and resolve Database Activity Monitoring system vulnerabilities. Advise on Database Monitoring Capabilities
• Advise clients on database monitoring concepts and functional capabilities.
• Provide technical advice to the team and clients for installation, setup, configuration of databases activity monitoring.
• Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
• Implement plans to make database monitoring available to users in a shared, secure and controlled manner.
• Participate in research initiatives for the development of advances and automated approaches for database monitoring.

Optimise Database Monitoring

• Optimise the delivery of database monitoring with emphasis on availability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Develop automated processes to define, measure, and report on service quality, stability and capacity.

Resolve Issues

• Oversee the assessment of risks to databases activity monitoring
• Resolve complex issues.
• Provide escalation support for issues presented by the client.
• The ability to work with diverse and dynamic teams to resolve issues.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable about how Database Activity Monitoring fits into the security and understand the database security concepts.
• 3 years of relevant experience with a Degree in IT or any related discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge on Database (e.g. Microsoft SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, MongoDB etc).
• Strong knowledge of Windows/UNIX/Linux server platform.
• Advantageous if have the following technical certifications
• Database certification
• Security related certification
• Experience in using IMPERVA.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is a mandatory criterion.
• Strong communications skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong vendor, service level and project management skills.
