Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day critical facility operations across Alibaba data centers.
• Manage changes to critical systems, respond to emergency failures, and ensure timely execution and tracking of preventive maintenance activities.
• Handle capacity management of facility systems, including power, cooling, and related infrastructure.
• Assess and mitigate availability risks of facility systems, driving timely resolution of all issues.
• Lead and implement improvement projects to enhance capacity, efficiency, and reliability of existing facility systems.
• Support the IT Manager on IT‑related projects and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with design and project teams for new site or data hall construction, commissioning, and expansion activities.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct operational analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports on critical facility infrastructure, operations, and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in critical facility management within large‑scale data centers.
• Strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) equipment including UPS, generators, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, etc., with expert‑level knowledge in at least one of these systems.
• Proven project management skills with experience leading facility or engineering projects.
• Prior experience managing teams in a high‑demand operational environment.
• Strong safety awareness with experience driving or coordinating safety evaluations or improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of Lean or Kaizen methodologies, with hands‑on experience in process improvement activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
• High attention to detail with strong risk identification and problem‑resolution abilities.
