Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Banking IT Domain person with extensive expertise in core banking solutions and program management to lead large-scale banking transformation initiatives. This strategic leadership role requires a seasoned professional who can drive multi-million-dollar implementations, architect complex solutions, and manage global delivery teams while maintaining strong client relationships with tier-1 financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Delivery Management
- Lead and manage large-scale core banking implementation programs with annual revenues exceeding $5M.
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle from pre-sales solutioning through delivery, including contract negotiations, resource management, and financial accountability. Drive project execution using industry-standard frameworks and methodologies, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Manage onsite, offshore, and hybrid delivery models across multiple geographies.
- Establish effective processes to drive project metrics and manage the triple constraints of scope, cost, and schedule.
Solution Architecture & Domain Leadership
- Serve as lead solution architect for complex core banking transformations across retail, corporate, and treasury banking domains.
- Design and deliver solutions for deposits, current & savings accounts, term deposits, loans, payments, trade finance, virtual account management, and liquidity management.
- Lead requirements gathering, gap analysis, solution design, and testing activities.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions with minimal impact to upstream and downstream systems.
- Provide functional specifications based on standard processes and templates.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with C-level executives at global banking institutions.
- Lead client expectations management and relationship development activities.
- Support sales teams with customer demonstrations, proposal requests, and RFP responses.
- Drive business development initiatives and expand practice capabilities.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams of 10-20+ functional and technical resources.
- Manage diverse teams across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
- Coordinate effectively with vendor partners, system integrators, and client stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, or related field) or equivalent.
- MBA or master’s degree in business administration, Finance, or related discipline strongly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 20+ years of IT experience with at least 15+ years in banking domain.
- Minimum 15+ years of hands‑on experience with core banking implementations and transformations.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale programs ($5M+ annual revenue).
- Extensive experience with global banking institutions across multiple geographies (Asia‑Pacific, Americas, EMEA).
- Significant onsite implementation experience in international markets.
- Strong background in solution architecture and design for banking platforms.
Technical & Domain Expertise
Core Banking Platforms (Must have deep expertise in at least one):
- Oracle Flexcube (FCUBS)
- Oracle Banking Liquidity Management (OBLM)
- Oracle Enterprise Limits and Collateral Management (ELCM)
- Oracle Banking Corporate Lending (OBCL)
- Oracle Virtual Account Management (VAM)
- Oracle Banking Party Oracle Payments
- Or equivalent core banking platforms (Temenos, FIS, SAP Banking, etc.).
Banking Domain Knowledge
- Expert-level understanding of Retail Banking products and processes.
- Strong knowledge of Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Digital banking platforms.
- Deep expertise in deposits, loans, payments, trade finance, liquidity management, and virtual account management.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of PL/SQL, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of banking integration patterns and middleware technologies.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and international payment standards.
Project Management & Certifications
- Formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.
- Certification in relevant core banking platforms highly desirable.
- Experience with enterprise project management frameworks and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing solutions for banks in multiple regions (Asia, Americas, Europe, Middle East).
- Track record of successful upgrade and migration projects for tier‑1 banks.
- Experience with digital banking transformation initiatives; knowledge of AML/KYC systems, CRM integration, and GL integration.
- Familiarity with Agile/DevOps practices in banking implementations.
- Experience managing relationships with global system integrators (Accenture, IBM, Infosys, etc.).
- Publication or speaking experience at industry conferences.
