Position Requirements:

  • Be flexible, energetic and resourceful.
  • Be confident and willing to work with students with a range of abilities.
  • Have an ability to design and fabricate items, such as storage units, for use in the workshops and prep areas.
  • Have a keen interest in design and timber related products as well as a willingness to learn about the context of timber and other resistant materials such as plastics and metals in an education setting.
  • Be able to follow instruction from the Head of Department and other teaching staff within the department.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and collaborate with others in a friendly manner.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills and is confident in the use of the telephone and email when communicating with suppliers and other personnel.
  • Be Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in carpentry or related trade would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with children in a school setting would be beneficial.
