Job summary

A leading procurement organization in Singapore is seeking a strategic leader to manage sales and business development for the MedSurg portfolio across Singapore and Malaysia. This role involves building a high-performing sales team, executing local sales strategies, and developing critical stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in sales management within the Medical Devices field, strong financial acumen, and proven leadership abilities. This role offers a hybrid work model and requires some travel.

Work Flexibility: Hybrid

This role provides leadership, direction and execution of business strategy for the for the entire MedSurg portfolio across Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring sustainable growth. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on execution to build a high-performing sales team and deliver exceptional customer engagement.

What you will be doing

Sales

  • Manage & implement local sales strategy in line with franchise and country objectives.
    • Achieve annual sales and growth targets for the entire MedSurg business across Singapore and Malaysia
    • Build strong capital equipment sales funnel and enhance funnel management discipline to maximize the win rate
    • Develop direct sales team capability and performance through CRM/Salesforce rigor, negotiation, tender processes, regulatory awareness, clinical fluency and stakeholder orchestration
    • Refine indirect channel strategies
  • Business development
    • Builds and executes business development plans for new products and geographies
    • Re-evaluate and build GTM strategy for select franchises
  • Create & maintain relationships with key hospital stake holders including but not limited to:
    • Chief Executives
    • Procurement
    • KOL's
Leadership/People Development/Engagement
  • Responsible for development of the team including individual development plans and build a strong talent pipeline for critical roles within the team
  • Conduct annual performance reviews & bi-annually interim performance reviews
  • Effectively mentor and coach the team to enhance their capability
  • Create an energetic and high-performance culture with a strong sense of accountability and ethics
  • Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement within the team. Conduct employee engagement sessions, and create and execute action plans based on these sessions
  • Build cross-department cooperation and efficiency
  • Responsible for compliance with company policies and corrective actions

Who are we looking for
  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical desirable proven track record of managing sales teams on creating & executing go-to- market plans, training, development, product launch & lifecycle management.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management while advancing the success of the operations in support of the overall regional and corporate objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability in accelerating the rate of change in shaping the culture of a for-profit organization.
  • Experience in a high-growth, global matrixed organization strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years' BD/Sales experience in Medical Devices, including 4+ years leading direct sales teams.
  • Capital and direct sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with solid P&L understanding and ability to maximize profit and ROI.
  • Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership, aligning operations with country, regional, and global objectives.
  • Experience in US or multinational environments, with strong cross-border relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to deliver against deadlines.
  • Clear and concise communicator, with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including at executive levels.
  • Positive, optimistic leader who motivates and inspires others.

Travel Percentage: 30%
