Job summary
The Commercial Executive plays a critical role in supporting the Business Development team by managing RFQ responses, optimizing procurement strategies, and serving as the lead function for handling daily commercial inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
RFQ & Tender Management
- Lead the preparation and submission of RFQs, tenders, and commercial proposals.
- Analyse client requirements and coordinate with internal teams to develop competitive solutions.
Procurement Strategy & Cost Optimization
- Source and negotiate with vendors, carriers, and subcontractors to secure favourable rates and terms.
- Continuously review procurement processes to improve efficiency and cost competitiveness.
Commercial Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for daily commercial inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide accurate pricing, service details, and commercial guidance to support sales activities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Maintain and update pricing databases, supplier performance records, and market rate benchmarks.
- Prepare reports on RFQ success rates, procurement savings, and commercial performance metrics.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Development Managers, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment on projectabilities and profitability targets.
- Support global offices with regional pricing and procurement insights when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or pricing roles within freight forwarding or project logistics.
- Strong understanding of RFQ processes, procurement strategies, and vendor negotiations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems; experience with freight management tools is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of international shipping terms (Incoterms), heavylift/ project cargo operations, and cost structures.
