Job description
Role Overview

The Commercial Director will own the full commercial engine, from top-of-funnel strategy to partnership signing, enterprise relationships, monetization frameworks, and market activation. This leader will work closely with Product, Growth, Operations, and the Executive Team to drive sustainable revenue while rapidly scaling the platform across regions.

This is a high-impact leadership position requiring a proven blend of traditional finance or fintech expertise and deep understanding of crypto / Web3 ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Leadership
  • Build and execute a global commercial strategy aligned with the company's mission and product roadmap.
  • Own revenue growth targets, pricing structures, monetization initiatives, and key revenue KPIs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and close high-value partnership opportunities across financial institutions, payment networks, infrastructure providers, exchanges, fintechs, and Web3 ecosystems.
  • Develop new commercial verticals and revenue channels across global markets.
2. Partnership Development
  • Lead full partnership lifecycle: sourcing, negotiation, deal structuring, onboarding, and long‑term joint success.
  • Establish relationships with Tier‑1 financial institutions, payment processors, liquidity providers, digital asset firms, and institutional clients.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure commercial agreements meet regulatory and operational requirements.
3. Market Expansion & Ecosystem Growth
  • Drive expansion into new regions with localized GTM strategies, regulatory considerations, and strategic alliances.
  • Build commercial frameworks that support user acquisition, KOL partnerships, growth initiatives, and global community engagement.
  • Identify local market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and commercial risks.
4. Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with Product and Tech to align commercial opportunities with product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Growth teams to shape messaging, market positioning, and enterprise communication.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Compliance to ensure commercial activities are scalable, compliant, and well‑structured.
5. Enterprise Relationship Management
  • Act as senior point of contact for institutional partners, ensuring mutual value creation and long‑term collaboration.
  • Lead enterprise business reviews, ensuring revenue expansion and strong partner retention.
  • Build trust with C‑level executives, investors, and ecosystem leaders.
6. Data‑Driven Optimization
  • Build and maintain dashboards for commercial forecasting, revenue tracking, and business performance.
  • Continuously refine commercial models based on market feedback, performance data, and financial outcomes.
  • Introduce scalable processes for onboarding, contract management, and partner success.
Requirements (Must‑Have)
  • 8+ years in senior commercial leadership roles (Commercial Director / VP Commercial / Head of Business Development).
  • Experience in crypto, Web3, blockchain, fintech, or regulated financial services — mix of TradFi + crypto is highly valued.
  • Proven track record driving revenue growth and closing large partnerships across multiple regions.
  • Strong network within crypto, fintech, banks, PSPs, payment processors, and institutional partners.
  • Deep understanding of digital asset infrastructure, crypto payments, liquidity, and on‑chain financial mechanisms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly analytical, structured thinker with a data‑driven approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, founder‑led environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute independently.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in a high‑velocity blockchain startup or scaling new markets.
  • Knowledge of compliance / regulatory implications for payments, digital assets, and cross‑border financial operations.
  • Understanding of DeFi primitives, on‑chain liquidity, tokenized assets, and Web3 communities.
  • Experience working with KOLs, influencers, or large‑scale crypto user communities.
  • Previous P&L responsibility or ownership of revenue lines.
