About Mint

Mint Building Services is a regional Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering high‑quality projects across Singapore and Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on commercial, hospitality, industrial, and mission‑critical environments.

The Role

The Commercial Director (M&E) is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall commercial performance, governance, and risk management of Mint’s Mechanical & Electrical project portfolio. Reporting directly to senior management, the role provides strategic commercial leadership across pre‑contract, live projects, and close‑out, ensuring disciplined cost control, strong cashflow, contractual compliance, and sustainable margin performance across the business. This position works closely with the Managing Director, Operations Directors, Project Directors, and Finance team to support growth, protect commercial outcomes, and embed best‑practice commercial management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain commercial governance, controls, and reporting standards
  • Provide senior commercial input into business planning, bid strategy, and risk profiling
  • Oversee commercial review of tenders, bids, and proposals
  • Lead pricing strategy, risk assessment, margin analysis, and commercial assumptions
  • Maintain commercial oversight across multiple live projects and business units
  • Lead contract administration strategy and dispute avoidance
  • Own commercial performance reporting at portfolio and project level
  • Set performance standards and build depth within the commercial function
Minimum Requirements – Essential
  • 15+ years’ experience in senior commercial, quantity surveying, or commercial management roles
  • Strong expertise in cost management, contract administration, claims, and final accounts
  • Experience negotiating high‑value client and subcontractor agreements
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial judgement
Beneficial / Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a regional or multi‑country M&E contractor
  • Exposure to complex projects such as commercial developments, hotels, healthcare, laboratories or mission‑critical facilities
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g. SIA, FIDIC, bespoke Design & Build contracts)
  • Experience supporting business growth, restructuring or operational scale‑up
  • Strong collaboration with finance teams on WIP, forecasting and audits
In Return

Mint Building Services offers the opportunity to join a growing regional M&E contractor in a senior leadership role with real influence over commercial strategy and performance. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, have responsibility for regional commercial outcomes, and play a key role in shaping the business as it continues to expand. A competitive remuneration package will be offered, aligned with experience and seniority.
