About the Role
As the Client Success Team Leader, you will lead a team of Project Managers to deliver outstanding client experiences and successful digital projects. Your primary focus will be on client relationship leadership, ensuring projects are aligned with business goals, delivered on time and within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations.
This role is about guiding and empowering your team to manage client conversations with clarity, confidence, and strategic insight, while ensuring smooth collaboration between clients and internal delivery teams.
Responsibilities
- Client Leadership & Relationship Management
- Lead and mentor Project Managers in client-facing best practices, including expectation management, effective communication, and issue resolution.
- Act as an escalation point for high-value or complex client matters, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
- Guide PMs in translating client goals and challenges into clear action plans for internal teams.
- Oversee client satisfaction metrics, renewal readiness, and post-project follow-up to strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Project Oversight & Strategic Alignment
- Provide strategic oversight of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Ensure PMs proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and opportunities, and develop business-minded solutions.
- Foster collaboration between design, development, and QA teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Support PMs in managing project reporting and status updates to keep all stakeholders aligned.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Inspire a culture of ownership, transparency, and accountability within the Project Management team.
- Coach PMs on balancing client needs with company priorities and commercial objectives.
- Encourage professional development and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Assist in preparing key documents, including pitch decks, RFPs, RFQs, SOW, project timelines, and training materials.
- Implement reporting metrics, tools, and dashboards to deliver clear visibility and actionable insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a client-facing project management or account management role, preferably in an agency or digital environment.
- Proven track record of leading and developing project teams.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to handle challenging conversations with tact.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to make decisions that serve both client and business goals.
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira).
Nice to Have
- Experience in digital projects, including familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix).
- Basic understanding of web development workflows and digital marketing principles (SEO, SEM, analytics).
- Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum) are a plus.
