A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the construction of power plant stations. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of engineering experience, a degree in Civil Engineering, and familiarity with local regulations. Job description

Responsibilities

• Reporting to Civil Manager
• Overall responsible for the civil construction of power plant station
• Plan and prepare station requirements (subcontractors, suppliers, materials, equipment) base on baseline program and work with technical/contracts department to finalize and submit for approval
• Achieve progress in accordance with programs and within budget
• Control the usage and minimize wastages of major building materials such as rebar, concrete, formwork materials, among other materials
• Carry out daily team meetings and site walks with project staff and produce tasks and action plan notes
• Invoke sequenced handover of works and track actual progress vs planned
• Prepare progress report for Manager to review
• Liaise with site team/ subcontractors on the scheduling and execution of all structural/architectural/ M&E works
• Liaise with Design team on engineering technical issues
• Manage traffic / underground services diversion and temporary works
• Requisition of required manpower, subcontractors and suppliers
• Liaise with Quality and EHS departs to implement on site
• Control subcontractors and suppliers for the timely closure of issues relating to quality and safety
• Plan and prepare MSRA/Documents for necessary permit base on baseline program, including government and owner (company) permit, and work with technical/contracts department to finalize and submit for approval

Requirements

• Must possess min 8 years of engineering experience with Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control as eligible for application as a Resident Engineer OR recognized degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the Engineer and at least 5 years of experience in managing civil and infrastructure construction work for projects of similar scale, complexity and nature of work
• Must possess all the training certificates required on a civil engineer
• Familiar with local engineering/construction laws and regulations in Singapore
• Familiar with engineering Permit, License, Approval etc. in Singapore is a plus
• Have more than two project construction experience, EPC project management experience is preferred
• Able to start work on short notice will be an advantage
