Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Manager position in the Centre of Infectious Disease Emergency Response, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

The Centre for Infectious Disease Emergency Response (CIDER) was established under the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine). The Centre comprises of multiple interdependent tracks to support Singapore authorities and partners regionally and globally to strengthen their capabilities to prevent, detect and effectively respond to infectious disease emergencies.

The candidate will report to the Centre Director and oversee all administrative and operational functions of the Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Centre Director and track leads in overseeing day-to-day operations and long-term planning across the Centre's programmes and workstreams.
  • Ensure effective delivery of administrative services including HR, procurement, and space/facilities coordination.
  • Develop and implement a financial sustainability plan to support the Centre's operations and growth.
  • Manage funding partners, donors and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost-recovery to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Play a proactive role in building and maintaining strong working relationships with academic faculty, administrative staff, institutional partners, and external collaborators.
  • Represent the Centre in meetings and discussions with key stakeholders as delegated.
  • Lead change management efforts to adapt to the evolving needs and overall objectives of the Centre.
  • Lead or support other special projects and events as assigned by the Centre Director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a reputable institution
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience in a managerial role overseeing interdependent units or operation.
  • Desired qualities include: prior experience in financial and fundraising activities.
  • Capacity to work with partners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to undertake tasks as they arise and are required for the efficient running of CIDER.
  • Strong leadership, written, and communication skills.
  • Capable of working in an experienced multidisciplinary team collaboratively and with empathy.
  • Proficient in project management, multitasking and prioritization to effectively manage cross-track initiatives and activities.
  • Meticulous and keen appreciation of documentation.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and able to (if not already) become proficient in University IT systems.
