Job summary

Overview

Our client is a leading cable & connectivity company, specialising in digital solutions and telecom products that power industries from renewable energy to data centres.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct market research to spot emerging cabling trends (higher fibre counts, ultra‑low‑loss MPO, hybrid power‑fibre trunks).
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the company’s data‑centre cabling portfolio – fibre & copper cables, pre‑terminated assemblies, racks, patch cords, PDUs.
  • Work with R&D and engineering to adapt or create new cabling products that solve real installation pain‑points in data halls.
  • Keep current with TIA‑942, ISO/IEC and Uptime Tier standards that affect cabling design.
  • Develop and implement a cabling‑solutions go‑to‑market plan for APAC data centres, aligned with corporate revenue targets.
  • Identify new opportunities: hyperscale builds, colos, edge sites, enterprise upgrades to 40/100/400 G.
  • Build strong technical relationships with consultants, integrators, contractors and end‑users to ensure our cables are specified early.
  • Provide fast, practical cable counts, pathway layouts and loss budgets that help sales teams win deals.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, webinars and on‑site training focused on cabling advantages (density, fire rating, lead‑time).
  • Prepare proposals, white papers and tender documents that clearly show cable specifications, compliance and cost‑benefit.
  • Carry out site visits and pre‑sale surveys to confirm routes, lengths and delivery schedules.
  • Serve as the internal “cable doctor” – advise on jacket types, bend‑radius, polarity, MPO pinning, fire ratings.
  • Support customers and installers during installation and testing; troubleshoot insertion‑loss or OTDR anomalies.
  • Stay updated on AI, edge computing and sustainability trends that drive new cabling demands.
Qualifications

Degree in engineering or business.

6–10 years track record of selling cabling, connectivity or telecom infrastructure solution sales.

Proficient knowledge in cabling solutions associated with Structured Cabling, Building Management Systems (Access Controls), Security and Fire Safety etc.; strong knowledge in management of vendors and end users.

Experience in driving the brand through consultants, distributor, partners training and events.

Commercial mindset: comfortable with P&L, pricing strategy, volume rebates and contract negotiation.

Fluent in English; additional Asian language a plus.
