Job description

We are looking for a buyer to support the efficient and effective operations of our purchasing department at Motherswork. Reporting to the head buyer, you will be responsible for the analysis of sales trends and inventory to forecast sales, with a view to optimizing the inventory assortment and availability to maximize sales. This individual will be accountable for ensuring that the stores (both offline and online) have the right product at the right time in the right quantities. You will regularly report and analyze sales data through Excel tools, propose product orders, process orders with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of products to stores. You will support a portfolio of brands with accountability for attaining budgeted sales, gross margin, and building market share in line with the company’s growth.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding terms, conditions, margins, cost, rebates, and exclusivity to create a competitive edge.
  • Forecast market demand, manage product inventory, and coordinate with overseas vendors on shipment schedules.
  • Analyze and propose annual and quarterly purchasing budgets for brands for offline and online stores based on company sales targets.
  • Review brand categories monthly—purchase and actual sales—to improve online and offline stock cost efficiency.
  • Analyze performance of stock and promotions to determine effectiveness of the product assortment and promotion strategy, driving market share.
  • Monitor stock movement and identify action points for aging/slow‑moving products through sales analysis reports.
  • Coordinate with stores and vendors on all replenishment activities, visual merchandising, new product range, promotion mechanics, and pricing.
  • Continuously track and source trending baby and FMCG products suited to local parenting demands.
Requirements
  • University degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in buying or sales support; experience in FMCG or baby products is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Analytical, meticulous, sensitive, and high‑level proficiency in MS Office Excel.
  • Self‑starter and independent.
