Our technology powers everything from operations and scheduling to data-driven training experiences for students and instructors worldwide.

We are expanding our tech team to bring this vision to life.

About the Role

Join our growing tech team to help build and scale the backend systems powering Evolve MMA’s internal digital tools and a new martial arts SaaS platform.

You’ll focus on developing APIs, automations, and integrations that connect our data, streamline internal processes, and lay the foundation for future AI-powered features such as personalized recommendations and predictive analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build REST and GraphQL APIs that power internal and external applications.
• Work with MySQL databases, writing efficient queries and managing schemas.
• Develop workflow automations that reduce manual work for internal teams.
• Manage AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda) and deployment pipelines.
• Implement authentication, access control, and PDPA-compliant data security.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers to deliver reliable, fast features.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proficient in SQL and database design.
• Experience building and maintaining APIs used by front-end applications.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud environments and deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations or analytics pipelines.
• Strong debugging, optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of PHP and WordPress (for collaboration on marketing/website projects).

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment), or infrastructure-as-code setups.
• Interest in or experience with SaaS product development or digital platforms in fitness, health, or education.
