Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Automation Engineer Position will assist in plant operations contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiency by utilizing software such as PLC, HMI, and motion control. To contribute to a work environment where fairness, equality, and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.

Key Responsibilities

General Equipment

• Identifies or addresses malfunctions of plant operational equipment. Proactively involved in identifying the defects in the operational equipment and finding out ways in which can be rectified.
• Monitors plant equipment operation and performance, adjusting to performance specifications.
• Communicates the status of operating equipment to production supervisors or managers.
• Maintain logs and reports, work requests, or other records of work performed in the plant.
• Propose improvements to prevent the re-occurrence of trouble, and target set not more than 3 times similar incident.
• Coordinate with all contractors/supplies for in-house periodic maintenance including plant facilities and repairs.

PLC & Software

• Able to read and write Siemens S7 PLC & HMI codes.
• Knowledge of serial communication.
• Knowledge of programming languages

Other Operational Duties

• Maintain proper documentations
• Housekeeping of spare parts, tools, and accessories.
• Initiate and participate in continuous improvement projects
• As assigned by Managers.

Competencies

• Electrical design and drawing.
• Install, calibrate, program modification, operate, and simulate the industrial Robot such as FANUC using Siemens S7 PLC, and HMI.
• Work with Suppliers and Vendors to determine selection of proper components.
• Perform installations/commissioning of machine/robot.

Travel

• Travel for this position is up to 30%.

Required Education and Experience

• Diploma / Degree in engineering discipline
