Key Post Information
  • Subsequent extension to this post will be subject to the terms of the Organization’s Staff Manual, to satisfactory performance and to availability of funds.
  • This position is financed by a third‑party external to the Organization. While there is a commitment from the donor, the appointment may be terminated prior to indication official end date of the project should the external funding no longer be available. The position also carries, in principle, no expectation of renewal. Any potential subsequent extension will be subject to the terms of the Organization’s Staff Manual, to satisfactory performance and to availability of funds.

Tests/interviews will take place approximately 2–3 weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants are kindly requested to plan their availability during this period.

Selected candidates will be expected to report for duty approximately two to three months following receipt of an offer.

Role Overview

The Audiovisual Manager is responsible for the smooth running and follow‑up of all audiovisual services within the General Secretariat and off‑site conferences. They oversee preparation of administrative and technical documents, and manage project implementation for expansion, improvement, or renovation of INTERPOL’s audiovisual infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:Duty 1 – Conference Management

  • Prepare, operate, coordinate, and technically organise conferences.
  • Liaise between management, administrative and technical personnel, and external speakers or delegates.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and translate findings into specifications.
  • Identify equipment needs, design implementation plans, and propose optimized solutions.
  • Implement technical supervision for sound, lighting, interpretation, video projections, recordings for streaming, and video conferencing.
Duty 2 – Technical & Budget Management
  • Establish annual roadmaps and budget forecasts.
  • Draft Technical Specification Documents and ensure compliance.
  • Define priorities for purchasing, repairing, and renting equipment.
  • Plan maintenance, validate quotes, and document weekly and annual activity reports.
Duty 3 – Support Services
  • Provide level 1 and 2 audiovisual support to staff and users.
  • Interpret and anticipate user needs, proposing innovative solutions.
  • Assist and train users, develop and document procedures.
  • Offer advice and guidance on audiovisual services.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive technical knowledge in conference management, simultaneous translation systems, audio‑video, videoconferencing, and video‑over‑IP.
  • Tenure of at least 5 years in a similar position.
  • Proficient in operation chain of professional audiovisual equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in audiovisual fields or equivalent practical experience.
Languages
  • Excellent command of English, especially technical English related to audio‑video.
Abilities
  • Expertise in control room, sound, lighting, recording, videoconferencing, satellite, encryption, simultaneous translation, streaming.
  • Strong initiative, availability, and responsiveness under pressure.
  • Excellent writing, summarizing, and interpersonal skills.
