Our Client

Our client is an established global leader in freight forwarding & logistics, providing integrated air, sea, and land freight solutions. They are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Assistant Supply Chain Manager to support the management of their freight operations in Singapore, ensuring smooth execution, cost efficiency & service reliability.

The Role

This is a key support and development role within the operations function. You will assist in managing daily freight operations, coordinating with vendors & internal teams, and driving process improvements. This position is ideal for an operations professional ready to step into a managerial role with significant responsibility for operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support End-to-End Freight Operations
    • Assist in managing daily operations for air, sea & land freight shipments.
    • Coordinate between customer service, operations, carriers & overseas agents to ensure on‑time delivery.
    • Monitor shipment progress & help resolve operational escalations.
  2. Vendor & Carrier Coordination
    • Support the management of relationships with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers & warehouse providers.
    • Help review vendor performance & assist in contract reviews under guidance.
    • Track vendor KPIs & contribute to corrective action plans.
  3. Cost & Process Optimization
    • Analyse freight costs & operational data to identify savings opportunities.
    • Support routing optimization & carrier selection to improve profitability.
    • Assist in implementing workflow improvements & digital tool adoption.
  4. Compliance & Documentation
    • Help ensure adherence to trade regulations, customs requirements & internal SOPs.
    • Monitor documentation accuracy to minimize compliance risks & delays.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors.
  5. Cross-Functional Support
    • Work closely with Sales, Finance & Customer Service teams to align operations with business needs.
    • Assist in forecasting, capacity planning & resource allocation activities.
    • Prepare operational reports on performance, volumes & exceptions.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations.
  • Good knowledge of air & sea freight procedures, documentation & compliance.
  • Experience in vendor coordination & performance tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and operational systems (TMS, ERP).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving & coordination skills.
  • A team player with a continuous improvement mindset, ready to take on managerial responsibilities.
