The Client:

The client is a major player in the Shipping Carrier industry. The firm is a prominent player in global trade, with a strong network connecting Asia to fast-growing. The company is a key provider of both standard and specialized cargo solutions, and it is actively investing in fleet modernization and digitalization to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Job Scope:

This role involves overseeing a strategic planning team focused on developing and refining the company's long-term strategy for sustained profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of regular performance reports, monitoring key internal metrics against external market indicators and competitor performance. This includes tracking market volume, capacity, and financial benchmarks to assess the company's competitive position.
  • Prepare and present quarterly business reviews, annual budgets, and long-term strategic plans for senior stakeholders. This involves reviewing and tracking key strategies, as well as developing fleet renewal plans, scenario models, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct in-depth research, including surveys, interviews, and data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead feasibility studies and develop business cases for new initiatives, such as entering new markets.
  • Help drive organizational transformation efforts, including exploring and implementing advanced analytics and developing new operational models to support the business strategy.
Job Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Business, Finance, or Economics) combined with a Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • More than 4 years of relevant experience in a strategic planning, management consulting, or a related industry. Experience with a focus on supply chain, freight, or logistics is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen, including a deep understanding of managerial accounting, corporate finance, and corporate strategy.
  • Proficiency in project management and statistical data analysis.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and data presentation skills (e.g., using tools like PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Experience with advanced analytics, such as SQL, Python, or R, is an advantage.
