RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting - Improve the governance and reporting of financials for compliance
- Review the financials of the Schools, Offices, Colleges and Institutes ("SOCI") to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate presentation.
- Prepare regular financial performance reports in compliance with standards and regulations.
- Evaluate the financial performance with relevant stakeholders to determine any actions to be taken.
- Design effective operational and strategic reports that can be adopted and managed by the SOCI.
- Provide training to the SOCI's management team (e.g. HODs, Assistant Deans, Budget co-ordinators).
- Planning & Analysis - Act as a business advisor to the Provost, Deans and HODs on financial control of the SOCI by generating financial analysis, insight and recommendations for future planning and alignment to the Long Term Financial Model ("LTFM")
- Critically assess and facilitate overall SOCI budget & forecast submissions.
- Identify and provide guidance on financial opportunities and risks to the gross margin.
- Contribute to building business cases for new strategic initiatives and assessing post-implementation results, working with the Offices of Finance, Procurement and Strategic Management.
- Communication - Be the first point of contact for the SOCI on all financial matters; and for OFIN on all SOCI's matters
- Enhance awareness and adherence to financial policies.
- Build strong, effective relationships across SOCIs to ensure their needs are addressed.
- Process Improvement - Continuously evaluate policies and procedures to ensure optimization
- Align and streamline processes within and across SOCI to achieve consistency and efficiency.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Accountancy, preferably with CA qualifications.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Successful track record in Business partnering and Financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
- Experienced in driving process improvements and change management.
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
- Confidence around senior management.
- Comfortable in a matrix reporting environment.
- Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in SAP usage and data extraction.
- Familiar with BI tools (eg. Qliksense, Power BI, Tableau).
- Fluent in both written & spoken English.
