Position: Assistant Director, Data Analytics (Ref:FRH)

Our client is an organization that provides social and community services, and works closely with government agencies. They are currently looking for a senior manager to lead their data analytics team in support of achieving a well-connected integrated care system.

Role Overview

The Assistant Director leads the Data Analytics team to deliver rigorous quantitative analysis, programme evaluation, and business intelligence that inform policy, service, and operational planning. The role ensures high-quality, defensible analytics solutions and promotes a data-driven culture across the organization and its partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead advanced analytics, modelling, and programme evaluations, ensuring methodological rigour and actionable insights.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external organisations to shape analytics priorities and influence best practices.
  • Oversee end-to-end analytics delivery, including deep-dive analyses, dashboards, geospatial products, and machine learning-based insights.
  • Guide programme managers in developing theories of change, evaluation designs, outcome indicators, data collection methods, and analytic plans.
  • Supervise data analysis and reporting for programme evaluations and research projects.
  • Manage team workload to meet operational timelines while supporting staff development.
  • Build analytics capability across the organization through training, workshops, and communities of practice.
  • Serve as advisor for outsourced evaluations, including procurement support and review of deliverables.
  • Translate complex statistical findings into clear, non-technical insights for decision-makers.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff for professional development.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced analytics certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant analytics experience, preferably in health or social care, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in statistical and quantitative methods, with proficiency in Python, R, or Stata, and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Business-oriented, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills; experience in multi-agency settings is a plus.
