Job summary

A leading aerospace technology firm in Singapore is seeking a Business Development Executive to collaborate with the sales and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in the aerospace industry, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Responsibilities include developing accounts, preparing quotations, and negotiating with vendors. Experience with business travel and local language fluencies in the APAC region is a plus.

Job description

Summary:

The Business Development Executive collaborates closely with the indoor sales team to source, prepare quotations, and liaise with the Customer Service team to fulfill orders. The executive is expected to be conscientious and able to work under pressure in order to coordinate between the sales team, the vendors/suppliers, forwarders, the customer service team, and the customers. He/She is expected to be proficient in English as well as basic computer software such as Excel and Outlook. Experience with Business Central is a plus.

Possible coverage areas include North Asia (China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan), Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines) and Singapore. For regional roles, business travel of up to 50% per month is expected. Experience including, but not limited to, local language fluency, past stints, and existing aerospace networks in these countries are a big plus.

Candidates are also expected to have previous experience trading aerospace consumables such as tapes, chemicals, tooling, and raw materials. Experience with rotable programs is also welcomed.

Responsibilities:

  • Further develop current accounts and hunt for new accounts in assigned territories. These include airlines, MRO shops, 3P repair shops, and air forces.
  • Closely partner with the indoor sales team (when available) to source, prepare quotations, and coordinate with the customer service team to fulfill orders. Functions include, but are not limited to -
  1. Source and expand existing vendor pool;
  2. Negotiate with vendors for best pricing and lead time;
  3. Prepare quotations for the customers;
  4. Process purchase orders from the customers by coordinating with the Customer Service team by way of systematically sending out the relevant quotation from the vendor and purchase order from the customer;
  5. Track and monitor outstanding sales orders.
  • Support sales analysis.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in Aerospace industry.
  2. At least 2 to 5 years of experience in general admin or sales support.
  3. Strong interpersonal, effective written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  4. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  5. Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  6. High integrity, reliability, and honesty.
  7. Independent and able to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive global environment
