Job summary

A logistics company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Accountant (GL) to manage month-end closing, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with GST regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or ACCA/CPA certification, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with SAP and strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, are advantageous. This role involves working closely with internal and external auditors to meet regulatory requirements.

Job Summary

Accountant (GL) - Finance is mostly involved in month end closing, management reporting and financial reporting of monthly results. He/she produces timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts, thus achieving compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements. She must also analyse data and understands the financial performance and position of the business vertical in order to meet reporting requirements and to produce any special reports required by the management team.
Accountant (GL) - Finance also works closely with internal stakeholders to roll out improvement projects to help digitalise the finance process, thus benefiting the organisation. She also works closely with internal stakeholders to understand and highlights issues and cost improvement measures.
Accountant (GL) - Finance also works with the internal and external auditors and tax agents to meet regulatory reporting requirements. She must keep current with changing statutory requirements and tax laws and determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end closing activities.
  • Record transactions and events relating to inventory, accruals, prepayments, capital structure and finance costs.
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
  • Extract data and provide analysis for management using relevant accounting information systems or software.
  • Manage a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Apply professional judgement to identify accounting treatments adopted in financial statements and assess their suitability and acceptability.
  • Compile accurate tax-related (GST) information for the organisation.
  • Calculate GST liabilities of the organisation.
  • Provide accurate and timely GST returns to the relevant authorities.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Respond to internal and external auditors on audit data, variances, and audit findings.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or ACCA / CPA certification
  • Diploma in Accountancy and an ACCA certificate with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or reputable audit firm.
  • 5 years of relevant experience will be preferred.
  • Experience with using SAP will be advantageous.
  • Well-versed in MS Office, especially MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
