Sr Supplier Quality Engineer, Interior & Safety

Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility

At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.

We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.

Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

The Global Supplier Quality team ensures seamless industrialization, launch, and long-term excellence of innovative products. As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for Interior & Safety, you’ll act as the subject matter expert —from early design and supplier development to launch, mass production, and continuous improvement.

This role requires close collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and supplier networks to deliver complex designs with uncompromising quality. You’ll drive scalable manufacturing solutions, robust control strategies, and proactive quality systems that support flawless execution and sustained performance.

The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and globally mobile—ready to execute across NA, Asia, EU, and KSA. An innate ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is highly desirable.

You Will:

  • Own supplier quality activities for Interior and Safety components, including molded plastics, soft trim, restraints, and airbag systems.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure supplier readiness and alignment with product requirements.
  • Support early design reviews and DFM discussions, incorporating lessons learned and driving manufacturability improvements.
  • Develop and execute quality plans, including inspection criteria, test methods, and gaging strategies.
  • Facilitate APQP deliverables and PPAP submissions, ensuring timely and complete documentation from suppliers.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for supplier quality issues, driving containment and long-term resolution.
  • Conduct supplier audits and process assessments, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support build events and incoming inspection setup, ensuring quality controls are in place and effective.
  • Manage change control activities related to supplier components, ensuring traceability and alignment with engineering updates.
  • Travel up to 30% globally to support supplier development and issue resolution.

You Bring:

  • 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrialization within automotive or high-volume production environments.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and inspection methods for molded and assembled components.
  • Familiarity with statistical tools such as SPC, MSA, DOE, and capability analysis.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Smartsheets, Minitab, JIRA, or Tableau is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
