Job description

The successful candidate will be a qualified electrical engineer with strong, proven design and technical skills and experience of developing schemes for multiple design and construction projects.

• Design of electrical systems from first principles for large and multi-storey projects
• Development of concepts through detailed design and into construction documentation
• Organise, programme and prepare shop drawings for electrical systems to enable clear information to be issued to the site and construction team.
• Lead the effort for sourcing materials and construction systems for projects based on a keen understanding of functional requirements, value for money, availability and appropriateness.
• To understand and analyse designs completed by others and to identify, discuss and implement efficiencies which can be achieved
• Coordinate the work of his team with the other engineering and design disciplines within the office, under the control of the Chief Engineer.
• Take responsibility for checking the completeness, accuracy and quality of the work carried out within the Electrical Engineering team.
• Through time-management and careful programming of activities ensure work carried out within the Electrical Engineering team is completed according to deadlines.
• Actively participate in the development and management of the Engineering Team.
• Be proactive in identifying and solving problems, conflicts and errors in both the technical and man-management roles of this position.
