The Project Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and design documents for various project components in accordance with engineering specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards. The role supports the engineering and project management teams by translating conceptual designs and sketches into precise drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Technical Drawing & Modeling: Create precise 2D and 3D drawings, models, and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and project teams to interpret design concepts and convert sketches into formal technical drawings.
- Documentation Management: Maintain organized records of all project drawings, revisions, and design specifications to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Drawing Revisions: Update and revise existing drawings to reflect design changes, stakeholder feedback, or "as-built" conditions.
- Site Surveys: Conduct field visits to collect measurements and verify existing site conditions for accurate drafting.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all drawings meet company standards, project requirements, and relevant industry codes and regulations.
- Reporting & Support: Assist in preparing material take-offs, cost estimates, and other technical documentation as needed.
- Problem Solving: Identify and help resolve design inconsistencies or technical challenges during the drafting process.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks or assignments as directed by the supervisor or project manager.
Preferred Candidate
- Education: Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Certifications: Professional training or certification in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools such as SolidWorks or MicroStation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands‑on drafting experience in engineering, construction, or industrial projects.
- Drawing Expertise: Proven ability to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and accurate as-built documentation.
