Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior Equipment Inspector in Saudi Arabia's Northern Borders Province. Job description

Under exceptional approved situations a Senior Equipment inspector with full current certification in API 510 pressure vessel inspection, API 570 process piping, API 653 tank repair, alteration and reconstruction inspection standards and fully familiar with ASME welding and pressure vessel codes may be considered.

Nine (9) years, either in the petroleum industry or similar process industries, with three years in a quality assurance function involve with enforcing and/or formulating codes and standards.

15 years field inspection experience and proven outstanding technical knowledge and proven leadership experience in the Company may be considered.

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Requires a thorough knowledge of all relevant US and Saudi Aramco inspection/mechanical codes and standards, construction and maintenance procedures, up-to-date materials testing procedures, techniques and analysis (both destructive and non-destructive), engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods and design detail.

General knowledge in Refinery specific corrosion principles and failure mechanisms ASME and API code calculation principles and methodology, National board inspection code, and risk based inspection.

Work Experience

Responsible of all operations services for the Refinery and designated company community facilities. This includes civil, electrical, piping and process mechanical equipment, pressure vessels, surface preparation and coating inspection disciplines.

Primary responsibility is to see that all repair, replacement, or facility expansion projects under his jurisdiction are completed according to applicable codes and standards, or those proper waivers are submitted and approved to allow deviations from standards.

Responsible of keeping adequate equipment/facility inspection records and fixed equipment repair histories.

Provide required information for weekly highlight, OP, BP, monthly performance meeting, MIS, Mid-Year and end accountability.

Conduct performance evaluation for the field supervisors and specialists in the unit and plan promotions for qualified employees.

Provide technical assistance to Operations, Maintenance and maintenance special projects in resolving problems concerning methods and procedures of completing work within the scope and purpose of applicable codes and standards.

Administer training functions in the unit and promote certifications level.

Make periodic on-site inspection of work in progress to resolve problems, provide technical assistance, and to evaluate the adequacy of inspection.

Work with Engineering Services Inspection Department to develop new Company Standards or to improve and update existing Standards and inspection methods.

Review designs for plant modifications or repairs to verify if design is within applicable codes and standards.

Prepare pro-active inspection requirements and forecasts the need for new materials that must be available for all plant T&Is.

Ensure an equipment inspection schedule (EIS) is maintained for all Refinery plant pressure vessels and fixed equipment, and that an approved equipment inspection frequency is adhered to.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES

Minimum of 15 years in the refinery and/or Natural Gas Liquids industry, specifically in mechanical inspection, with at least 10 years field experience working on plants major turnaround, field troubleshooting and inspection.

Must have certification in two of the following API accreditations: API-510, API-570, API-653.

Must be a Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1 or CWI/AWS).

NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level II is a must.

Qualified NDT Examiner (Visual/Penetrant/Ultrasonic/Magnetic Particle Testing) is also required.

Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of best engineering practices, solid industry codes and standards background.
