Job summary

Within our Mobility and Railway business, we have an opportunity to assist the Client with PMC services for a Transportation/Infrastructure Department to be based in Abha. In this scope, we are looking for an Assistant Estimator.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Assist in analyzing project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements of the Client.
  • Gather and review vendor quotes, material prices, and subcontractor bids to compile cost data for project estimates.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs based on project plans and schedules.
  • Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to organize data, perform calculations, and generate detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including breakdowns of costs, schedules, and project deliverables, for submission to clients.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain pricing information and clarify project requirements.
  • Assist in conducting site visits and inspections to assess project conditions, evaluate potential risks, and gather relevant data for estimates.
  • Support project managers in reviewing contracts, negotiating terms, and addressing cost-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence related to project pricing and procurement activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, and construction costs to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in estimating.
Profile/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Possesses at least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in estimating, cost analysis, or procurement, preferably in the wood construction or building materials industry.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Timberline, CostX), and other relevant tools for cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of wood construction techniques, materials, and industry standards is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, bidding processes, and project management concepts.
