The Guest Service Expert helps transform routine meal service into a smooth and memorable guest experience. The role supports restaurant setup, food and beverage delivery, guest communication, kitchen coordination, cleanliness, and safe working practices throughout daily operations. In a luxury hotel setting, this position contributes to guest satisfaction by staying alert to details, maintaining a professional appearance, responding with care, and ensuring the dining area remains welcoming, organized, and service‑ready.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests in a courteous, confident, and professional manner during food and beverage service.
- Prepare dining tables, service stations, restaurant supplies, cutlery, glassware, and guest areas according to hotel standards.
- Serve food and drinks accurately while supporting proper timing, presentation, comfort, and guest satisfaction.
- Communicate guest orders, special requests, dietary details, and service needs clearly with kitchen and service colleagues.
- Support the full dining flow from table preparation and guest interaction to clearing, cleaning, and closing tasks.
- Maintain clean work areas, service equipment, restaurant sections, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Read and visually verify menu details, service instructions, orders, and billing information to support accurate service.
- Follow company policies, food hygiene rules, grooming standards, quality procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Respond to guest requests with attention and professionalism, escalating service issues when supervisor support is needed.
- Work actively on the floor while standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping as required.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place service items safely within the physical requirements of the role.
- Assist colleagues during busy meal periods, special dining arrangements, events, and other operational needs.
Ideal Profile
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent education is preferred.
- Less than 1 year of related experience in food and beverage, restaurant service, hotel operations, or guest service is suitable.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- No license or certification is required.
- Genuine interest in luxury hospitality, restaurant service, guest care, and food and beverage operations.
- Professional appearance with the ability to follow grooming, uniform, hygiene, and brand service standards.
- Good communication skills with a polite, helpful, and team‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to stay active for extended periods in a fast‑paced restaurant or hotel service environment.
- Comfortable working on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces while observing safety procedures.
- Able to lift and move service items within required limits, with assistance where needed.
- Strong attention to small service details, cleanliness, order accuracy, and guest comfort.
- Flexible approach to supporting different restaurant tasks and reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
