Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the Director of Engineering in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and administration of all engineering systems within the hotel. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire life safety, ELV, and BMS systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Faena brand standards and local regulations. The Engineering Manager leads supervisors and technicians, drives preventive maintenance programs, supports cost control initiatives, and ensures consistent service excellence across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Engineering in planning, coordinating, and supervising all engineering operations.
  • Lead and manage engineering supervisors and technicians, ensuring effective daily deployment and performance.
  • Implement and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs across all building systems.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ELV, fire life safety, and BMS systems.
  • Ensure timely response to engineering issues impacting guest comfort, safety, or operations.
  • Review work orders, technical reports, and maintenance logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized services, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure plant rooms, workshops, and engineering areas meet safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings and represent the Engineering department as required.
  • Support training, mentoring, and performance development of engineering team members.
  • Assist with pre-opening activities, including snagging, testing & commissioning, and system handovers.
  • Coordinate fire and life safety drills in collaboration with Security and relevant authorities.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly engineering reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, manpower planning, and cost‑control initiatives.
  • Monitor utility consumption and identify energy‑saving and sustainability opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all life safety, regulatory, audit, and brand requirements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or Assistant Chief Engineer role within luxury hotels or resorts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hotel building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, and BMS.
  • Experience supervising engineering teams and managing contractors and service providers.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, statutory compliance, and life safety standards.
  • Experience supporting budgets, cost control, and energy management initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced luxury hospitality environment.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or trade certifications preferred.
