Job description
Senior Accountant
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong experience in fashion retail/manufacturing. If such candidates are not available, individuals with a solid background in trading businesses will also be considered. The ideal candidate must be hands‑on, organized, and capable of owning the entire accounting cycle while also managing procurement and inventory controls.

This role requires someone who understands how businesses operate in the real world — from budgeting to monthly closing to procurement discipline — and who can bring structure and stability to our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Manage full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliation.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing with accuracy and deadlines.
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain compliance with local regulations, VAT (ZATCA), and financial policies.
  • Ensure proper record‑keeping, documentation, and audit readiness at all times.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
  • Lead the development of the annual budget, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Track actual vs. budget performance; highlight gaps and propose corrective actions.
  • Work closely with management to support short‑term and long‑term financial planning.
  • Analyze cost structures and drive cost‑optimization initiatives.
3. Procurement & Cost Control
  • Establish and maintain a procurement policy aligned with company goals.
  • Oversee supplier selection, quotation comparison, purchase approvals, and contract terms.
  • Ensure procurement requests follow proper workflows and spend control.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate better pricing whenever possible.
4. Inventory & Store Management
  • Develop and enforce strong inventory management processes.
  • Track raw materials, finished goods, store stock, and inter‑branch transfers.
  • Implement stock audits, reconciliations, and shrinkage control measures.
  • Coordinate with production and retail teams to ensure accurate stock movement recording.
5. Systems, Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Implement process improvements to streamline accounting and procurement workflows.
  • Strengthen internal controls, approval hierarchies, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, ZATCA, WHT, and all relevant financialindustry regulations.
  • Support digital transformation efforts across accounting, procurement, and inventory systems.
Skills
Must-Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience, with at least 2–3 years in a fashion company (preferred) or trading business.
  • Strong command of:
  • Financial accounting & reporting
  • Procurement management
  • Inventory control
  • Budgeting & cost management
  • Advanced skills in Excel and accounting software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Saudi financial compliance (VAT, ZATCA, audit requirements).
Preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing or product‑based environments.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, BOM, SKU/variant systems, and costing models.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple deadlines, and manage cross‑department workflows.
Key Competencies
  • Sharp attention to detail — zero tolerance for errors.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination across departments.
  • High integrity, discipline, and sense of ownership.
  • Ability to enforce controls and maintain financial discipline within the company.
Why This Role Matters

You’re not just maintaining books — you’re setting the financial backbone of the company. Fashion businesses move fast, margins are tight, and procurement mistakes are costly. This role demands someone who can keep the numbers clean, the stock organized, and the processes tight.
