The role We are seeking a Lead Hand with experience in commercial construction and team leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high standards.

As a Lead Hand, you will uphold Livingstone values on site, oversee daily activities, prioritize safety, and meet deadlines without compromising quality. The ideal candidate will thrive on variety, excel in leadership and reporting, and have strong experience in commercial building.

Broadly, the role will involve:

• Supervising and coordinating construction crews to ensure tasks are completed to high standards and on schedule
• Providing guidance and mentorship to team members to develop their skills
• Collaborating with project managers and architects to interpret plans and specifications
• Troubleshooting and resolving on-site issues
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols
• Fostering a positive work environment

What we're looking for:

• Trade Qualified Carpenter with at least 5 years of NZ construction experience
• Proven leadership and management skills in construction
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety and productivity
• Ability to mentor junior team members
• Proficient in reading construction plans
