We are in search of an experienced New Zealand registered classroom teacher who has up to date knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment tools. This is a permanent, full-time teaching role. The role will be based in our Ormiston Junior Provision.

In this role
  • Our class sizes are small, ranging from 2–10 students per class group.
  • You will have a strong commitment to learning NZSL with our full support of lessons, day to day support and resources.
  • You will work in a teaching team, which includes Teachers and Teacher Aides of the Deaf, with access to other specialists as required including Educational Interpreters.
  • Your strong knowledge of the NZ Curriculum means you will have the ability to raise achievement of our ākonga.
  • Be eligible for a MoE Study Award for a Post Graduate Teacher of the Deaf qualification.
  • 5 days CRT release time per term as per PTCA plus significant additional release during an induction phase.

Applications will be considered from teachers with recent knowledge and understanding of the core business of lifting student achievement and wellbeing. We will support you to develop an awareness of Deaf Culture and the Deaf community.
